Flyers Rangers Series Preview

The biggest key to the Stanley Cup Playoff series between the New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers could be which team plays the best on the road. In four regular-season games this season, the home team won each time.   I remember my first Wawa like it was my first girlfriend.  The Providence Road store in Wallingford across from the Helen Kate Furness Library. That Wawa and I had a lot of good times together. Hoagies and Mountain Dew after soccer games. Sneaking Marlboro Lights behind the dumpster in high school. The “safe” meeting place after the cops chased us from local beer parties. Delco Goes to Final Four:Bo Ryan

UPDATE 4/6/13: So close but yet so far.  Bo Ryan’s quest for a National Championship will have to wait another year. After Wisconsin’s last-second heave bounced away, the Wildcats stormed into Monday’s championship game with a 74-73 victory to set up a showdown of the lowest-seeded finalists in NCAA tournament history.  We feel your pain Coach Ryan. Congratulations on another great season. Delco Pride Airways Announces Inaugural Service to Bangladesh

(Media, PA) Delco Pride Airways is announces it’s inaugural non-stop service from Philadelphia International Airport to Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Delco Pride Airways will begin daily non-stop service starting April 1, 2014. Over 4 million international and 1 million domestic passengers as well as 150,000 tons of freight and mail exchange use Shah Jalal International Airport (DAC) on an annual basis. Several of them could be from Delaware County.   Fundraiser for William Zamulinsky from Wallingford, PA. William was recently diagnosed with Leukemia. The sold out event was held at Gibbons Automotive in Media, PA on 3/29/14. Bill Zamulinsky is self employed with his contracting business Zamco and has lost quite a bit of time (and hence $) because he and his wife Tina had to spend several weeks in CHOP taking care of their son William.  Tina had to give up her business taking care of other peoples children so as you can imagine their bills are starting to pile up. Not every hero has a mask and a cape. Some wear a bright orange vest and carry a stop sign. Meet crossing guard Charlie Duffy.  4 times a day you can find him at the corner of Bunting Lane and Oak Avenue in Primos. He’s been keeping the kids at Primos Elementary School safe for the past 8 years and has barely missed a day of work.  We stopped to talk to Charlie for a few minutes one morning. Exclusive: ABC Pilot Shooting in Delco Courtroom

A little bit of Hollywood is in Delco this weekend.  A massive TV production crew is using the Delaware County Courthouse as the set for an episode of the upcoming ABC drama called “How to Get Away with Murder”.  The show is a pilot series starring 2-time Oscar nominee Viola Davis who we are told is in town. It is set to premier in the fall.
