Our thoughts and prayers go out the family and friends of Prince George County Police Officer Jacai Colson from Boothwyn, PA and graduate of Chichester High School. The 28-year-old police officer was fatally shot in an ambush Sunday afternoon in Landover, Maryland, outside the police station where he worked. “One of your defenders lost his life in defense of this community today. This was an unprovoked attack,” Prince George’s Police Chief Henry Stawinski said. Colson, a second-generation police officer, would have celebrated his 29th birthday on Thursday. He was rushed to the hospital and later died. Police said two suspects ... Read More »

Dining Delco:Trattoria Giuseppe

trattoria giuesppe,edgemont

It’s great to have some restaurants in Delaware County where you just don’t have to think about what you are going to get.  Consistency is the key to to any great business. Give people what they expect. The success of McDonald’s is not because a Big Mac tastes delicious. It’s the Big Mac tastes the same whether it’s made in Broomall or Birmingham. Customers like to know what they’re getting when they walk in the door. There’s a certain comfort to that. Like an old sweater. Consistency is what you get when you visit Trattoria Giuseppe’s in Edgemont.  Expect the ... Read More »

Hopefully we’ll find out more about this blonde bombshell.  We might have to buy season tickets now.  We’d love to do a profile on her.  If you know who she is drop us a line at info@delcopride.com.  Read More »

Wawa:50 Years in Delco

I remember my first Wawa like it was my first girlfriend.  The Providence Road store in Wallingford across from the Helen Kate Furness Library. That Wawa and I had a lot of good times together. Hoagies and Mountain Dew after soccer games. Sneaking Marlboro Lights behind the dumpster in high school. The “safe” meeting place after the cops chased us from local beer parties. And I hate to admit it but a few packs of gum from those shelves may have also made their way into my pockets over the years.  Good memories. You see, for most people a ... Read More »
