A little bit of Hollywood is in Delco this weekend. A massive TV production crew is using the Delaware County Courthouse as the set for an episode of the upcoming ABC drama called “How to Get Away with Murder”. The show is a pilot series starring 2-time Oscar nominee Viola Davis who we are told is in town. It is set to premier in the fall.
Sources inside the County government tell us the crew is setting up on Friday night and filming most of Saturday. Delaware County’s premier “Courtroom 1” is being used as a set according to production crews who were glad to let our source snap a couple pics.
Huge production trucks are lining the streets around courthouses. Our source took these pictures of crews beginning to set up movie lights. We are told that local officials have desperately trying to been trying to keep the production quiet and wanted to downplay Delaware County’s role in what appears on-screen. We are now trying to confirm how much, if any money this is costing the County or how the County benefits from the production.
According to the Hollywood Reporter “How to Get Away With Murder” is a “sexy, suspense-driven legal thriller that centers on ambitious law students and their brilliant and mysterious criminal defense professor who become entangled in a murder plot that could rock their entire university and change the course of their lives”. It has Delco written all over it.
