Media’s New “Home Office”

Media’s New “Home Office”

Cindi Sutera knew she needed a change.  The marketing professional realized her home office in Glen Mills was becoming more “home” than “office”.  She needed a real space of her own.  She needed room to grow.  Not just a spare bedroom or basement of their corporate headquarters. The problem?  Renting a full-time office costs money.

Headroom, Media's New "Entrepreneurial Ecosystem"

That’s when Sutera heard about Headroom. The new “entrepreneurial ecosystem” in the downtown Media that helps startups and small businesses with affordable, short-term office space.

For monthly and even hourly rates, entrepreneurs and small business owners share the contemporary designed second floor space overlooking Media’s State Street. “Residents” of Headroom get all of the trappings of a corporate office. Including a receptionist, use of small meeting rooms, a large conference/presentation room, a podcast/video studio and break area.  But it’s Headroom’s philosophy that’s become it’s most valuable feature. The concept of sharing ideas with other like-minded businesses owners. Residents not only share space but they share resources, sales leads and ideas.  For start-ups and entrepreneurs, it’s that kind of synergy that can build innovation and help businesses grow.

The basic rate is $275 a month. Among the corporate amenities-private keyed access to Headroom, meeting room space for 2-14 people, printing and copying service and a fully stocked kitchen. Residents also have access to regular workshops and idea sessions featuring local innovators and business owners.

Headroom has already created the ‘Robert McMahon Innovator of the Year’ Award. Each year a team of business, civic and academic leaders from the area will select a new innovator, entrepreneur or business idea to receive this award.  The recipient will receive a $5,000.00 business development contract from HeadRoom for business services, professional workshops and mentor consultations.

Sutera, who runs AMS Marketing and Communications, says she she was so impressed with Headroom  she has now joined them as public relations director.

Headroom offices are located at 24 Veterans Square, Media PA.  For more information go to www.headroom.net
